Provide full services to the Provincial Offences Court through direct customer services. This would include the provision of administration support to the Provincial Offences Court when the court is in session and counter services when court is not in session.


  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Two years post-secondary education in Law Office Administration or related program or Certificate of Proficiency by the Court Reporter’s Association of Ontario.

  • Minimum 2 years related experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of Provincial Offences Act and the Courts of Justice Act.
  • Sound knowledge of the Ontario Court of Justice and Provincial Offences Court procedures.
  • Knowledge of legislation and processes related to Court Administration matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment and knowledge of the Integrated Court Offences. Network (ICON) system and the Court Administration management System (CAMS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal diplomatically with the public, colleagues, stakeholders and the judiciary.
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to deal deescalate difficult conversations.
  • High level of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to interpret legislation.

  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Must maintain ability to travel in a timely manner to all POA court locations in the Niagara Region.
