We are currently seeking an Engineering Software Administrator who will participate as a valuable member of the engineering team by maintaining, optimizing, and improving our Engineering software, including, but not limited to, CAD and PLM/PDM software. This position will be based out of our Kelowna, Canada office.
Job Summary
The Engineering Software Administrator is a full-time position, responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and improvement of our Engineering software, including, but not limited to, CAD and PLM/PDM software. This position reports to the IT Dept.
Responsibilities

System and Business administration of CAD/PLM/PDM software including, but not limited to:

Configuring Object Initialization Rules (OIR’s), Lifecycle and Workflow templates, teams, groups, and roles

Monitor and manage Windchill Visualization Services (WVS) and CAD Worker configurations
-
Create and manage replication schedules
-
Support Engineering in use of Creo Parametric and Windchill
-
Develop and manage material libraries, templates, workflows and standard BOM structures to improve accuracy of CAD and PLM data

Maintain standard settings for Creo Parametric users and support on-boarding new employees
-
Train new users on the basic functions of PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill
-
Troubleshoots server- and client-side issues (using 3rd-party consultants when necessary)

Conceives and implements relevant business data reporting using Windchill Reports and Report Query builder

Coordinates with IT department, and 3rd-party consultants for enterprise software deployment and to support continuous improvement projects

Proactively identifies and plans for process improvements (e.g. Change process automation, ERP integration)

Performs all other duties as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, Experience
-
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a similar technical qualification
-
1+ years of experience in CAD or PLM/PDM software administration

Experience with PTC products is an asset
-
Knowledge of SQL (T-SQL), Java and JavaScript is an asset

Understanding of enterprise BOM design and data architecture design practices

Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Best Practices and engineering change processes

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to understand technical issues, find root causes, and implement solutions

Ability to take ownership of issues and projects to see them through to completion

Works effectively in a collaborative team environment with shifting priorities to resolve issues that require innovative approaches.

Highly organized with the ability to implement processes with long-term growth in mind

Possess a valid passport with ability to travel internationally

Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time. This position may work in the plant and outdoors in the field, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes include extreme cold and heat. The work described while working in the plant or field will require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest and steel toed boots.
