Learner and Academic Services is focused on creating and supporting services and processes that enable and enrich SAIT’s student experience. Learner and Academic Services brings together academic development, delivery and quality assurance of learning systems while providing resources and services designed to help students reach their full academic potential. Through a diverse range of campus life activities and unique, flexible programming, Learner and Academic Services helps students succeed at SAIT.
The Learner and Academic Services department is seeking a professional, motivated person to act as a scribe on a casual, as-needed basis for one or more students with difficulty in writing during exams or other evaluations.
This is a temporary casual position with an end date of April 30, 2019. Hours will vary due to student scheduling. Pay rate is $19.99/hr. Hours and work times will vary.
Job Description

Write student responses to a test, or other evaluation, as the student dictates. These students may have fine motor or other deficits that may make it difficult to write, even though they can learn and understand the material.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent grammatical/writing skills in the English language
Demonstrated organizational skills and initiative
Ability to use independent judgment with a minimum amount of supervision
Previous post-secondary education or prior teaching experience is preferred
