Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in managing the company’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely collections, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and PeopleSoft, along with strong data entry and analysis skills. Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of receivables records
- Maintain detailed records of customer accounts and transactions
- Follow up with clients regarding overdue invoices through professional negotiation and customer service skills
- Conduct data entry of payments, adjustments, and account updates with high accuracy
- Collaborate with the accounting team on accounts payable and other bookkeeping tasks as needed
- Provide analysis of accounts receivable aging reports to identify collection issues
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette
- Support overall financial services functions related to accounts receivable management
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and accounts receivable processes
- Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Analytical skills for account analysis and reconciliation tasks
- Effective negotiation skills for collections and customer interactions
- Strong math skills for financial calculations and account analysis
- Exceptional customer service abilities and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Prior experience in financial services or similar roles is preferred
