Vancouver Coastal Health has an exciting opportunity as the Regional Director, Maternal Child Program for the Regional Paediatrics & Perinatal department in Vancouver, BC. In this position you will report through the Regional Program Executive Lead, to the Senior Executive Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working in a co-leadership role with the Regional Pediatric and Perinatal Medical Directors, the Regional Director develops, leads, and evaluates the planning and delivery of the designated regional program and services in accordance with the vision, mission, values and goals of the organization. Being responsible for the provision of an integrated organization wide system that will result in the enhanced integration of services and clinical practice, better outcomes, and better quality patient care for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC).
Acting as the strategic liaison between key stakeholders and Co-Chairs the VCH/PHC/Children and Women’s Perinatal and Pediatric Councils to lead toward the achievement of regional service goals, resource optimization and service alignment, evaluation and quality improvement, identification and monitoring of service standards and standardization of protocols and guidelines.
Partnering with Community of Care (CoC) and PHC leadership who are responsible for the delivery of health care services and, with the relevant Medical Director, is the key liaison representing VCH and PHC on provincial committees related to maternal child initiatives, including Perinatal Services BC and Child Health BC Steering Committees.
Work with key stakeholders to identify key success factors, priority strategies/objectives and key performance indicators for the systems framework and for the integrated service model.

Education & Experience
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health Administration or a relevant field plus seven (7) to ten (10) years’ recent, related managerial and leadership experience in a health care environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
Builds, develops and maintains strategic partnerships with various stakeholders to identify and collaborate on solutions for improved linkages and communications.
Demonstrated experience in examining and improving operations and procedures, formulating and implementing new policies and developing new strategies and procedures.
Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing and the ability to work effectively with various audiences both internal and external to the organization.
Utilizes sound business acumen to manage the fiscal resources and budgets of the Program and of projects in a manner that is financially responsible and consistent with the overall goals of the organization.
Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills, including ability to performance manage, inspire and direct teams as well as engage and involve stakeholders in the planning and implementation processes.
Project manages effectively in a multi-disciplinary and complex environment, utilizing project management principles and methodologies. Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
Thoroughly skilled in the preparation of business cases, complete with financial, strategic option and risk analyses. Demonstrated ability to develop and present oral and written plans.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
