Cioffi's Meat Market & Deli is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Butcher with a focus on quality inspection and precision cutting. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality meats and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect the quality of meat upon delivery to ensure freshness and adherence to our high standards.
- Boning, trimming, portioning, and cutting meats for retail sale and customer orders, following specific guidelines and customer preferences.
- Expertly break down carcasses, including sides and hinds, with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough end-of-day clean-up to maintain a sanitary and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as required to support the efficient operation of the butcher department.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a butcher, with a strong emphasis on quality inspection and cutting techniques.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, ensuring customer satisfaction with every interaction.
- Proficiency in cutting Beef, Lamb, Pork, and Poultry, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Positive and friendly attitude, demonstrating respect for customers, colleagues, and the product.
- Ability to read and converse in English; conversational Italian is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
