Street Food Cafe Puchkaman is an Indian street food restaurant in Scarborough, and we're looking for a reliable Kitchen Helper / Line Cook to join our team.
This is a hands-on kitchen position. You'll be helping with food preparation, assembling orders, working at our chaat and puchka stations, and keeping your work area clean and organized.
You don't need to know how to make all of our menu items before joining. We're happy to train the right person who is reliable, works well with others, and is willing to learn.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and assembling chaat, puchka and other Indian street food items
- Assisting with rolls, momos, pav bhaji and other menu items
- Basic food preparation and kitchen work
- Preparing ingredients before and during service
- Assembling orders quickly and accurately
- Keeping your station clean and organized
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- Helping the kitchen team during busy periods
- Opening/closing and general kitchen duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant
- Able to work as part of a team
- Willing to learn
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is an asset, but not required
- Experience with Indian food, chaat or street food is a plus
- Flexible availability is preferred
- Evening and weekend availability is an asset
