The Fleet Labourer is responsible for ensuring company vehicles and yard are clean, presentable, safe, and ready for service by maintaining the interior and exterior of the fleet, supporting basic vehicle upkeep, and keeping the wash rack and yard clean, organized, and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean the interior and exterior of motorcoaches, buses, and company vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles while cleaning and report any new damage or maintenance concerns to the Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required and within training.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies
- Restock vehicle supplies
- Keep the wash rack, yard, and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with moving vehicles around the yard when required and authorized.
- Run errands and pick up or deliver supplies, parts, or equipment as required.
- Assist with other general operational duties as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work cooperatively with drivers, dispatch, maintenance, and operations staff.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in janitorial role, or car detailing an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience working around vehicles are assets.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Must possess a valid class 5 license (Class 1, 2, or 3 license considered an asset)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Work in yard standing for multiple hours continuously.
- Work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
