Event Activation Lead – Structured Live Events

Overview
Imagine It Global delivers structured, high-energy LEGO-based activations in malls, schools, public venues, and community events across Ontario.
We are hiring Event Activation Leads for ongoing activations including the festival, event and fairs season over the summer through to the fall.
Our Focus is Canada Day - Wednesday, July 1st. We have 7 events across Ontario that day including Mississauga.
This is a contract, part-time role with scheduling based on event assignments.
This role is best suited for individuals who are calm, organized, and reliable under pressure.
The Event Lead role is responsible for:
- Full event setup and teardown
- Leading on-site staff
- Managing client communication onsite
- Delivering structured workshop programming
- Protecting brand standards during live events
- Supporting logistics and transportation coordination
This is not a casual event role.
It requires discipline, leadership presence, operational reliability, and the ability to manage structured event environments professionally.
You Are Likely a Fit If You:
- Can manage a team calmly in busy environments
- Follow and enforce structured activation formats
- Are comfortable driving rental vans and transporting event equipment
- Are open to travel and occasional overnight stays
- Can handle long event days with composure
- Can make decisions while protecting brand standards
- Are physically capable of lifting/moving equipment (20 lbs)
- Are based in the GTA or able to reliably travel to GTA meeting points
- Have experience working with children, families, or public-facing event environments
- Are willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) for ongoing event assignments
- Can drive a hi-roof van and are age 21 or over
Not a Fit If You:
- Prefer improvising format or changing structure
- Cannot commit to full event windows (setup + teardown)
- Are uncomfortable directing staff
- Are unreliable with schedule commitments
- Are looking for a casual or passive event role
Responsibilities Include:
- Driving rental vans and transporting event equipment
- Setup sequencing and teardown oversight
- Staff direction and break rotation management
- Workshop facilitation within structured programming
- Client liaison during events
- Escalation management when required
- Maintaining safety and supervision standards
- Supporting a clean, organized, and professional event environment
Compensation:
- $22/hr starting rate
- Additional travel and driver premiums may apply depending on event assignment
- Hotel accommodations provided when required for out-of-town events
All new Leads begin with an initial 1–2 event evaluation period.
Strong performance may lead to ongoing Lead opportunities throughout the year.
Application Requirements:

- Your general availability for weekday, weekend, and out-of-town event assignments
- Your primary transportation method to event meeting points (own vehicle, transit, etc.)
- Your comfort driving rental vans and transporting event equipment
- Your ability to travel to events both within and outside the GTA
- Your comfort with overnight travel and hotel stays when required
- Your willingness to work the full scheduled event window once assigned
- Age 21 or older to drive the van

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
