This is a broad, hands-on role where what you do makes a real impact. We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven VP of Business Development to influence the company's next phase of growth in both services and products. This role requires deep industry relationships, strategic thinking, understands how complex engineering programs are won, sold, and delivered.
Convergence is a rapidly expanding, all-star design engineering firm that specializes in systems/hardware/firmware/mechanical engineering working on flagship projects including CanArm3, complex avionics for Airbus, fully custom low speed vehicles and rugged defense technologies across sea, land air and space. In addition to our core business of engineering services, we are expanding operations with a line of products purpose built for the Canadian Armed forces.

What You’ll Do
- Work in tandem with the existing business development team to manage, nurture and grow existing customer accounts.
- Proactively research and develop new business / engage new customers in relevant market areas in Canada and the United States.
- You'll lead growth across two business lines: 1) Engineering services supporting complex product development. 2) A new portfolio of defense products designed specifically for the Canadian Armed Forces+ NATO
- Lead the development of tailored proposals, capability briefings, and RFP responses for both industry and government.
- Prepare quotes for customers and manage supporting correspondence.
- Leverage existing relationships within the Canadian Armed Forces, defense contractors, and government agencies to identify new opportunities.
- You will have the autonomy to define marketing strategies for growth in defense, aviation, space and mobility.
- Build executive-level relationships with government organizations, defense primes, OEMs, and strategic partners.
- Maintain accurate client records, contact details, activities, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Collaborate with engineering, business development, marketing, and product teams to tailor solutions to client requirements.

What You’ll bring:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree or equivalent education.
- 8+ years leading complex B2B technical sales or business development within defense, aerospace or adjacent industries.
- Strong network within Canadian defense/OEM organizations and procurement bodies.
- Experience leading responses to complex technical RFPs, proposals, and government procurement opportunities.
- Resourceful, aptitude for problem-solving, and ability to determine solutions for customers.
- Results-orientated and able to work independently and within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel within North America (minimal).
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident with ability to receive CGP (Controlled Goods Program)
Bonus:
- Engineering background (systems, electrical, hardware, mechanical or software) is considered a strong asset.
- Exposure to controlled goods programs, facility security, or clearance environments.
- Former experience within the Canadian Armed Forces.
