The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from individuals who are interested in instructing laboratories in the following Biology course: BIO 1220 Human Physiology during the Summer 2026 2nd Session.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graduate Lab instructors’ responsibilities will be:
- Instructing and leading labs and/or tutorials, and marking exams and assignments
- Proctoring in-lab quizzes and tests
- Aiding with lab setup and teardown as required
- Other duties as assigned by the course instructor or laboratory coordinator
The successful applicant will be required to participate on a daily basis for their scheduled laboratory duties for the duration of the 2nd Summer Session.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must:
- Be a UPEI graduate student in good standing
- Have completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology or a similar program that required a course with a laboratory component that is equivalent to the lab they want to instruct.
- Have good communication skills
- Be WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) trained or be willing to take the training
