Position Summary / Purpose
The Financial Analyst is an individual contributor within the financial department and provide support to the Controller and the other related departments for the good function of the business. Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst is responsible for working within a variety of accounting fields to efficiently compile accurate information, analyze such data, and help facilitate financial reporting to fulfill internal, external, and regulatory reporting requirements. The incumbent will be detail-oriented and skilled at managing competing priorities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding of key accounting concepts and regulations (IFRS, ASPE) and able to translate into financial schedules and accounting entries.
- Perform departmental cost analysis, monthly analysis, and reporting.
- Perform various month end activities, including journal entries, SAP & Tagetik schedules, CAPEX clearing among other monthly tasks.
- Work very closely with the operations and perform manufacturing variance analysis and reporting.
- Present data to Finance Controller, including insight on potential corrective actions and forecasting compared to Plan.
- Support the annual cost center budget cycle and the monthly Estimates process.
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to support the financial aspects of the manufacturing costing process, and other finance processes in general.
- Liaise and collaborate with other sites (UK, USA, Italy) providing reporting support and analysis when required.
- Support indirect vendor’s cost analysis, accounts payable and associated functions.
- Actively use BW / Power BI, Advanced Excel and other tools for Day-to-Day analysis.
- Prepare sales tax summary to CRA & Other provincial bodies on regular basis.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities as necessary
- Very good knowledge of ASPE system, including other audit or government compliance activities, reporting, and analysis.
- Provide support and technical expertise to department team members including occasional support of Accounts Payable (approx. 10 hours per week)
- Support year-end external audits and other year-end requirements for group audit
- Any other task assigned by manager or senior management

Qualifications/ Experience
Essential
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
* Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal, professional integrity, character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
* Bachelor’s degree in economics with CPA or ACCA qualified.
* Strong technical knowledge of local ASPE Accounting principles is essential.
* Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
* Product cost accounting experience.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Advanced Excel skills – data driven and the ability to merge complex data sets.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents.
Desirable
· Desirable to have knowledge of SAP CO-FI;
· Desirable to have experience in start-up activities and IT systems development.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment
· Quick learner
· Demonstrated ability to transform large data sets into visual insights and analysis

Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
