Job description:
Our growing company is looking for a reliable cleaner to clean three apartment buildings in south Guelph for 18 hours per week. The cleaning tasks are primarily focused on a mix of medium and heavy-duty cleaning tasks (approximately 80%), with some light building support responsibilities (approximately 20%).
The position also requires someone who can also assist with superintendent tasks as well.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates reliability and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively and is suited to work independently. Applicants must be available Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8am to 2pm or 9am to 3pm.
There is an additional optional building also available to clean for 2 hours per day, Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s on the west side of Guelph for those applicants who have reliable transportation.
Job requirements:
Applicants must take pride in their work and be invested in providing residents with a clean living environment. The candidate must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and be effective when working on their own. Such duties include but aren’t limited to:
· Cleaning washrooms, squeegeeing windows, sweeping & mopping, vacuuming, elevators/stainless steel, etc.
· Disconnecting bins from the garbage compactor and attaching new bins.
· Unclogging / troubleshooting garbage chutes or compactors as needed.
· Picking up litter around the grounds.
· Filling softener salt brine tanks.
- Issue fobs upon managers request
- Distribute parking tags upon request by the manager
- Intercom updates will be completed as requested, training will be required
- Assist tenants with elevator moves, setting up and take down of elevator pads, inspect elevator and floors the move took place, reporting any damages noted to the building support staff
- Grant access to trade personnel and show them to the area / unit for service
- Assist with party room inspections and damage checks
- Reporting on any building deficiencies noticed while completing there cleaning duties
Responsibilities:
· Handling keys and FOB’s
· Working in a safe manner
· Reporting any damage to properties (i.e. emailing pictures)
· Reporting any unsafe conditions
· Use personal protective equipment as required
· Executing elevator move bookings
· Monitoring levels of supplies
Working conditions:
Applicants must be available to work Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8am to 2pm or 9am to 3pm.
Skills:
· Attention to detail
· Experience cleaning windows, bathrooms, elevators (stainless steel)
· Ability to switch around garbage compactor bins in garbage room
· Ability to send messages and pictures via cell phone
· Ability to lift 44 lbs (filling softener salt tanks) an asset
· Managing their time effectively
· Strong work ethic
· Able to follow schedules and checklists
Salary:
$18.50/hour to start
