Summary
Reporting to Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Associate ensures that products are received, processed, and shipped efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the company’s operations. The role supports accurate order fulfillment, maintains inventory accuracy, and follows all food safety and workplace safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
1. Receiving & Storing Products:
- Aid with unloading deliveries and accurately verify product information and quantity against shipping documentation.
- Properly store and organize products using RF scanners, ensuring proper rotation of product first in first out (FIFO).
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor or junior lead.
2. Supplying the Production/ Verifying returns from production:
- Coordinate with material handlers to supply the products from the warehouse to the production floor.
- Ensure that staging areas are filled with the next required product and that product is supplied in order of expiry date.
- Receiving orders from production, verifying the orders completion and correctly storing the goods into inventory.
3. Order Picking & Packing:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping in a prompt and efficient manner and according to schedules.
- Ensure all orders are correctly filled and that all items are properly labeled and stored.
- Maintain exact order records and report any shortages or discrepancies.
4. Shipping & Loading Customer Orders:
- Pick, verify, and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Load products onto delivery vehicles safely and efficiently while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs), and report any discrepancies or issues to the Warehouse Lead or Supervisor.
5. Inventory Management:
- Aid with inventory counts and stock rotation to ensure the freshness of products and the accuracy of inventory always counts and in the right location.
- Aid in finding and addressing low stock levels and help with restocking.
6. Warehouse Organization & Cleanliness:
- Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and free of hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Aid with general maintenance tasks such as cleaning storage areas and equipment.
- Organic garbage, regular garbage and using cardboard compacting disposal.
7. Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company and regulatory safety guidelines, including food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and handle and store all produce per food safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience, preferably in a food production or produce-related environment, is an asset but not required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent Diploma.
- Ability to read and review paperwork for allocation of products
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle products with care
- Comfortable working manual labor, including lifting and standing for long periods lasting up to 12 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Counterbalance and Raymond Reach Forklift certification is preferred.
- Operate walkies, carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move large quantities of merchandise and load trucks.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Available to work on-site, 5 - 6 Days a week
- Shift work, including evenings and weekends, may be required
- Exposure to cold storage and warehouse environments
- Must follow PPE requirements and all safety protocols at all times
