Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Job Overview
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall guest satisfaction within our hospitality facility. This position supports the Housekeeping Department by supervising daily operations, coordinating cleaning activities, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cleaning and custodial work, with experience in hotel or hospitality environments, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Duties
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Supervise housekeeping staff, providing training, guidance, and support to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Coordinate cleaning schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to meet operational needs.
- Conduct inspections of rooms and facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and maintenance.
- Address guest requests or complaints related to cleanliness promptly and professionally.
- Implement safety protocols related to cleaning procedures and ensure staff adherence.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for housekeeping staff as needed.
- Perform room cleaning, laundry and any other duties as required to smooth operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or hospitality environments; hotel experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, industrial cleaning practices, and custodial procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with staff and interact with guests professionally.
