The Opportunity
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist exists to provide consistent, accessible and effective HR support across the employee lifecycle while helping build the people practices, processes and resources needed to support Virtual Health Hub’s (VHH) growth.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR services, contributing to HR programs and process improvement, and supporting leaders and employees with a range of HR matters. You will work collaboratively with employees, leaders and partners to provide responsive, accessible and inclusive HR support and help create a consistent, positive and culturally responsive employee experience.
This role matters because the work of HR helps create the organizational foundation for VHH to deliver on its healthcare purpose. Your work will help VHH build strong teams, effective people practices and the organizational capacity to implement our priorities, support innovation and ultimately improve how we serve communities across Saskatchewan.
This role is well suited to an HR professional who enjoys both the operational and developmental sides of HR and is interested in contributing to a growing organization where systems, processes and practices are continually being built and improved.
This position is required to work at our Saskatoon office with a planned office relocation to Whitecap, SK in Spring 2027.
What You’ll Do
- Support recruitment activities, including candidate communication, interview participation, reference processes and onboarding.
- Provide responsive and inclusive day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, benefits, leaves and employee inquiries.
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, processes, systems and resources.
- Support HR practices and employee experiences that are inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive, including consideration of diverse perspectives, experiences and ways of knowing.
- Conduct HR research and benchmarking to support organizational and HR decision-making.
- Maintain accurate HR data, records and reporting, and support HR analytics as required.
- Support employee communications and resources, including developing and maintaining the HR presence on SharePoint.
- Participate in HR, employee experience and organizational development initiatives and projects.
- Support leaders and employees with a range of HR matters and initiatives, using a respectful, inclusive and employee-centred approach.
- Contribute to a positive, consistent and accessible employee experience across VHH.
- Perform other related duties and projects as required to support the evolving needs of VHH.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of progressive and broad experience in human resources.
- Experience supporting recruitment, and working with HR policies, processes and employee programs.
- Experience conducting HR research and supporting projects or process improvement.
- Experience working with HRIS or other employee information systems.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of core HR practices and principles.
- Working knowledge of Saskatchewan employment legislation and other applicable workplace legislation.
- Demonstrated commitment to respectful, inclusive and accessible workplace practices.
- Awareness of how culture, identity and lived experience can influence the employee experience and HR practices.
- Strong technology skills and demonstrated ability to learn, navigate and work across multiple systems and digital platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, and an ability to organize and present information in user-friendly digital environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Developing research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness and a collaborative approach.

- Demonstrated willingness to learn, listen, and continuously improve HR practices and approaches.
Preferences
- A Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or progress toward a CPHR designation.
- Experience supporting the development or maintenance of digital employee resources, intranet or SharePoint sites.
- Experience in a growing or evolving organization.
- Experience contributing to inclusive, accessible or culturally responsive workplace initiatives.
