Job Description & Summary
A career in our Accounting and Tax Reporting practice, within Private Company Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help private companies with a range of business advisory services to resolve their day-to-day business issues and to help them achieve long-term success. You will advise clients on their local tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant, and will help them manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. Our team helps our clients with accounting and complex tax reporting. You will focus on planning and executing notice to reader and review engagements; drafting and filing local financial statements; reviewing personal trust and corporate income tax returns, and other tax reporting forms; and will assist with year-end planning and bookkeeping.

At the Senior Accountant level, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

More than 3 years experience planning and executing review engagements in accordance with Generally Accepted Review Standards in addition to the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises
Accounting diploma or degree from a College or University. CPA (CA/CGA/CMA)
Sound knowledge of preparing Canadian personal and corporate income tax returns
Solid technical research capabilities in both accounting and tax (i.e., quantitative analytical skills with an emphasis on writing skills)
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with Caseware, Tax Prep, Google, QuickBooks, Sage and Simply Accounting is considered an asset
Effective communicator and team player
Solid analytical capacity, sound business sense and creative mind that have earned a reputation of providing excellence in client service
Clearly communicates efficiently and professionally to internal peers, other team members, and external clients on a daily basis, via written and oral communications
Adapts communication style to the level of the targeted audience. Also communicates complex information or issues in a clear and credible manner
Able to coach team members on engagements
