Writes, edits, and translates the Faculty’s promotional texts and documents to ensure that their quality reflects the professional image of the Faculty and its affiliated partners (centres and clinics). Works closely with management, support staff, faculty members and students by advising them on how to write and translate documents, promotional articles, information bulletins, and texts posted on social media, etc.
As an expert in writing and translating various media content, works closely with the communications and marketing team in designing new strategies, concepts and content for the Faculty and its affiliated partners.
Bachelor’s degree in translation, languages, or related university subject
Three years’ experience as a writer/editor/translator within a translation unit or a structured setting employing language professionals
Complete mastery of the methods and techniques used to translate, edit, write, adapt, proofread and research terminology, for both regular and social media, in order to independently perform all duties of the position
Proven ability to take on a heavy workload, adjust priorities and quickly renegotiate deadlines in a high-pressure work environment characterized by many emergencies and frequent interruptions
Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Discretion and excellent listening skills to foster good relations with different clients
Initiative and imagination, strong problem-solving skills and proven skill in managing complex translation and editing projects involving multiple stakeholders
Experience in using computer systems and software, such as: translation software, word processors, presentation software, and communications software (editorial calendar, social media management system, Campaigner email marketing software, Drupal web content management, LastPass password manager)
Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
