Overview
We are seeking a quick learning and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to carry out and manage the bookkeeping, payroll, compliance reporting, and financial reporting of our clients. This role requires using software optimization tools to streamline transaction coding and keep accounts receivable and accounts payable current. The ideal candidate is quick to learn and apply technology, has strong communication skills, and has grounded analytical skills so that questions can be asked to our clients without management intervening.

Duties
- Maintain accurate financials by recording transactions using software optimizations.
- Implement client-specific accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting systems.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable balances.
- Process client payrolls.
- Carry out third party reporting (ie/ WCB, EHT, GST, T4, and T5)
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Conduct account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with client business owners to gather information.
- Maintain historical records by filing documents.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online accounting software.
- Prepare month-end accrual adjustments.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, A/R, and A/P processes.
- Ability to resolve account reconciliation differences on their own efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Critical thinker
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
