Join Triovest, one of the largest privately-owned Canadian commercial real estate companies, as a Senior Financial Analyst at our downtown Toronto office. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial accounting information of different property portfolios for our clients and support the completion of annual audits and tax returns. This is a key role as it will support the team in producing high quality reports for our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support with the preparation and publishing of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, as well as coordinate the generation and review of the Asset Under Management (AUM) report for presentation to the Management.
- Assist with the timely completion of the annual audited financial statements. Ensure annual financial audits are well organized and delivered on time.
- Update the financial statements template and obtain auditor and client approval of the standard template, with the inclusion of the latest IFRS rules published.
- Assist with client corporate governance including filing of tax returns, processing of legal documents, implementing client re-balancing.
- Update public records for all clients while working closely with legal firms.
- Assist with financial covenant reviews for new tenants.
- Build professional communication with other related parties, banks, auditors, and government agencies to ensure all relationships are in good standing.
- Ensure MSCI quarterly reports are accurate and current. Respond to MSCI and client queries on a timely basis.
- Provide support on property/asset management reporting on related party operations.
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES
- A University degree would be preferred with a specialization in Accounting.
- An accounting designation is required (CPA or legacy CPA).
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a national accounting firm and /or similar experience within the commercial real estate industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and Accounting for Private Enterprises (ASPE), as well as experience in IFRS accounting.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and current experience in corporate tax compliance.
- Experience in providing timely and accurate reports to internal and external clients.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to creating a culture of client and customer service and engagement. Ability to work well with senior management, peers, clients and other external parties.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
