Private Tutor / Family Educator – Strong Focus on Reading & Literacy
We are looking for a patient, engaging, and experienced private tutor to work with our three children.
The role will provide support across all core school subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and general schoolwork, with a strong focus on improving reading ability, comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence.
We are looking for someone who can assess each child’s individual learning needs and provide structured, engaging lessons tailored to their age and ability. The right person should make learning enjoyable while also providing consistency, structure, and measurable progress.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one and small-group instruction
- Developing strong reading, literacy, and comprehension skills
- Supporting mathematics, writing, and other core school subjects
- Helping with homework and school assignments when required
- Creating engaging educational activities and learning projects
- Tracking progress and communicating regularly with parents
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning
Previous experience as an elementary school teacher, reading specialist, educational assistant, private tutor, or similar role is preferred.
A teaching degree is an asset but not required for candidates with strong experience working with children and demonstrated success improving literacy and academic skills.
We are looking for someone dependable, energetic, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping children learn and succeed.
Regular weekly hours are available. Schedule and compensation will be discussed based on experience and availability.
