Job Purpose;

Reporting to the Thunder Bay and District Crime Stoppers’ Board of Directors, the Office Administrator/Bookkeeper will provide accurate, efficient, confidential office administration support as well as bookkeeping services for the organization.

Important Information;

The person hired for this position must be available to work during regular business hours for 3 - 6 hours every week to conduct business that is required. Also may be required to travel at the end of May (4 days) for the annual training conference. All previous applicants must resubmit there resume if they would like to apply.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Duties;

  • use word processing, spreadsheets and database software to prepare reports, memorandums and documents as required
  • liaise with the Board of Directors
  • general office administration duties
  • bookkeeping, banking and payroll duties
  • maintain the Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers’ website and Social Media accounts
  • prepare applications and final reports for lottery licences
  • research and prepare grant applications and other funding sources
  • provide support duties for Crime Stoppers events and fundraisers as required
  • ensure compliance with by-laws for events and fundraisers
  • responsible for media releases and advertising
  • procure Crime Stoppers promotional items

Qualifications;

  • diploma or certificate from a recognized secretarial or business program or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in confidential office administration and bookkeeping
  • excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • strong digital literacy skills
  • must be bondable and able to supply a criminal records check
  • must be able to work independently and with limited supervision
  • must have a valid driver’s licence and access to own vehicle
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
