Spectrum Property Maintenance Ltd — Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader (Full-Time, Summer)
Spectrum Property Maintenance Ltd is looking to hire a full-time Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader for the summer season, with the possibility to continue full-time through fall clean-up and into winter snow removal.
This is not an entry-level labour position. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and the company they represent, and who can be trusted to run a crew on commercial, condominium, and residential properties with minimal supervision.
Compensation: $24–28 per hour, based on experience. Opportunity for year-round full-time work — summer maintenance rolls into fall clean-up and guaranteed winter hours.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 2–4 crew members in daily landscaping and lawn maintenance operations
- Ensure scheduled property care is completed on time and to standard: lawn mowing, trimming, edging, power-raking, aeration, hedge/shrub/tree trimming, and pruning
- Fertilizer application and weed control
- Planting and installation — trees, shrubs, sod, mulch beds, and rock beds
- Assist with occasional landscape construction projects — patios, decks, fences, and similar hardscape features
- Plan and manage the daily loading/unloading of trucks and trailers, and confirm the crew has the labour, equipment, and materials to hit daily targets
- Inspect completed work for quality to eliminate return visits and re-work
- Train and support crew members on proper operation, safety, and efficiency standards
- Track and report crew time, site completion, and any maintenance or operational issues
- Operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently, including mowers, ride-on units, line trimmers, backpack blowers, and related tools
- Drive company truck (and trailer) to sites
- Maintenance and minor repair of equipment
- Maintain the cleanliness of the trucks and equipment
- Maintain a professional personal appearance
- Communicate with clients in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements:
- Must have previous leadership or crew lead experience
- Minimum 2 years of landscaping and lawn maintenance experience
- MUST have a valid Alberta Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract
- MUST have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be physically fit and able to work long hours in all types of weather
- Must be flexible with schedule; on-call 24/7 during the winter season if continuing year-round
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and complete daily reports
