Join our dynamic team as an Asbestos Abatement Worker and play a vital role in ensuring safe, healthy environments through expert asbestos removal and containment. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for executing asbestos abatement projects with precision, adhering to safety protocols, and utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to complete restoration and demolition tasks. Your contributions will help protect building occupants and the environment while supporting ongoing construction and renovation efforts.
Duties
- Safely remove, contain, and dispose of asbestos materials following strict regulatory guidelines and safety procedures
- Prepare work sites by cleaning surfaces, setting up barriers, and ensuring proper containment of hazardous materials
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform demolition, restoration, and asbestos abatement tasks efficiently
- Conduct thorough inspections of work areas to identify asbestos hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist in the cleaning and decontamination of work zones to maintain a safe environment for team members and future occupants
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and disposal processes for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate abatement activities during renovation or demolition projects
Requirements
- Prior experience with cleaning, handling hazardous materials, or construction work is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other construction-related equipment
- Knowledge of asbestos regulations, safety protocols, and proper disposal procedures (certification preferred)
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance throughout all project phases
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively
- Construction experience or background in restoration projects is a plus
