Child & Youth Crisis and Outreach Services-New Position

CRISIS & OUTREACH SERVICES CLINICIAN Ref. #2026-35
Full-time, (35 hrs/wk), Permanent, Salaried
Salary: Step 1 $45,765 - Step 2 $51,485 - Step 3 $57,206

Responsibilities:
· Provide integrated and timely clinical services, treatment and support to increase child/youth and family skills and capacity (e.g., communication, self-regulation, mental health, de-escalation strategies, co-regulation skills, etc.) to support meaningful functioning and participation in home, school and community. Children/youth up to 18 years have been identified as having extensive behavioural, neurodevelopmental, mental health, medical and social vulnerabilities.
· Develop and implement integrated service plans that address the unmet needs of children/youth and their families.
· Working flexible hours as a member of a multidisciplinary team supporting the family journey through care, discharge and transition planning.
· Provide urgent response to address safety needs for high risk situations including creation of safety plans, crisis intervention, and case management services.
Qualifications:
· University Degree in Social Sciences, Child & Youth Care Practitioner, or Social Service Worker
· Three to five years’ experience in providing specialized clinical support to children with extensive complex needs and their families
· Strong assessment, individual & family counselling, and crisis intervention skills
· Ability to work individually and as a team member in unstructured settings
· Good computer literacy; excellent verbal & written communication skills
· Vulnerable Sector Record Check (includes Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check), Children’s Aid Society Declaration/Release
· Possession of a valid driver’s license, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear Driver Abstract and use of a vehicle.
