About the Opportunity
A growing residential construction company in the Greater Saint John area is seeking an experienced Lead Plumber to take a key role in its residential construction operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing plumbing work from factory-based modular pre-plumbing through to on-site installation, service connections, inspections, and final completion.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and code compliance, while also helping mentor and develop the next generation of plumbers.

About the Role
The Lead Plumber will oversee the plumbing scope for modular residential construction projects, working both in a factory environment and on residential job sites.
This role combines hands-on plumbing with leadership, planning, material coordination, permitting, inspections, and mentorship. The successful candidate will play an important role in establishing consistent plumbing standards and helping build a strong plumbing team as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and pressure-test drainage, waste and vent (DWV) systems and water supply systems in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and requirements.
- Complete pre-plumbing of modular units in a factory environment prior to transportation and installation.
- Complete plumbing connections and related work once modular units are set on their foundations.
- Complete water and sewer connections to municipal services.
- Install and connect fixtures, water heaters, and other plumbing components.
- Test, commission, and troubleshoot completed plumbing systems.
- Obtain required plumbing permits and coordinate required inspections.
- Communicate with inspectors and address deficiencies or required corrections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, plumbing plans, and specifications.
- Prepare material takeoffs and coordinate ordering of plumbing materials.
- Manage plumbing materials, tools, and inventory on job sites.
- Provide plumbing service, repairs, and maintenance at company-owned properties as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure plumbing work is completed to required quality and safety standards.
- Provide hands-on guidance, training, and mentorship to plumber apprentices and less-experienced workers.
- Help identify workers with the aptitude and attitude to advance in the plumbing trade and support their development toward Red Seal certification.
- Lead by example and contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive workplace.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Red Seal endorsement and valid New Brunswick Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber.
- Several years of residential plumbing experience.
- Experience in new residential construction is strongly preferred.
- Modular construction experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and New Brunswick requirements.
- Comfortable working with inspectors and coordinating plumbing inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, plumbing plans, and specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid New Brunswick driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to lead, mentor, and train apprentices and less-experienced workers.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, year-round employment.
- Work will take place in both a factory environment and residential construction sites throughout the Greater Saint John area.
- Occasional travel between job sites and company-owned properties may be required.
- Work may be required in a variety of weather conditions.
- Position involves standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working in trenches, crawlspaces, and modular units.
- Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
- CSA-approved footwear and required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn.
