We're looking for an experienced Bridge Working Foreperson to lead crews while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day construction of bridge and heavy civil projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working in the field, mentoring crews, solving problems, and delivering high-quality work safely and efficiently. You'll play a key role in coordinating daily operations, maintaining productivity, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.
As the Bridge Working Foreperson, you will:
- Lead and work alongside bridge construction crews to achieve daily production goals.
- Plan, organize, and assign daily work activities while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies, project safety plans, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct daily hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure proper PPE and safe work practices are followed.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Support short-term planning by identifying upcoming labour, equipment, and material requirements.
- Monitor crew productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Complete daily reports, production tracking, timekeeping, equipment logs, and field documentation.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Supervise and participate in bridge construction activities including excavation, formwork, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, demolition, structural installations, bearings, expansion joints, drainage systems, and restoration work.
- Maintain clear communication with the Superintendent and project team regarding daily progress, challenges, and scheduling.
- Minimum 5 years of bridge or heavy civil construction experience, including field leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience leading crews while actively working in the field.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.
- Strong safety leadership with experience managing high-risk activities including:
- Rigging and lifting
- Working at heights
- Traffic control environments
- Concrete operations
- Experience completing daily reports, production tracking, timekeeping, and field documentation.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating hand tools and small construction equipment.
- Valid driver's licence with the ability to travel to project sites.
- Gold Seal Foreperson Certification (or equivalent)
- Additional heavy civil or bridge rehabilitation experience is considered an asset.
