Located in Kamloops, BC, we are looking for a skilled Senior Metallurgist to join our Canadian team.
About the role
In this role, you will lead Mineral Processing projects, drawing on your expertise in comminution, flotation, leaching, and pressure oxidation. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in operations and metallurgical testing, who are ready to contribute to our growing and successful business.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Manage projects, which include:
- Conducting supervising, and reporting bench scale and pilot plant test work
- Directing, supervising and when necessary, conducting test work in laboratory
- Liaising with Technical Services Manager regarding ongoing test programmes
- Providing mentoring to other technical staff
- Observing established safety regulations and complying with all health and safety policies
- Bid preparation
- Client interaction
- Completing metallurgical balances and communicating data to the clients
- Analyzing data and determine direction of the testing program based upon the results
- Upon completion of the test program, analyzing and presenting the data in a format suitable for using in the project final report
- Writing final technical reports for projects under management and projects managed by others if needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
- PEng registration preferred
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in mineral processing; gold or base metals processing preferred
- Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting is required
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
