Position Overview
We work with a diverse range of companies in mining, acting as expert consultants to provide the data they need to further their projects. We work on rotations, so you work hard and then have time off. During the winter, work slows providing plenty of free time – for those who enjoy winter please apply!
We are seeking teachable and resourceful applicants for immediate hiring. Previous related experience is beneficial. Formal relevant education and field experience is an asset, though not required. If you do not have direct experience, please highlight why you would be a good fit. We receive a lot of applicants and we don't want to guess what makes you standout.
In this position, you will travel to client sites and collect detailed geological, geophysical, geotechnical and hydrogeological information. Training will be provided, but attention to detail, resourcefulness and a focus on safety are key.
The successful applicant will join a great team, with an excellent sense of camaraderie and who solve tough problems in the mining and mineral exploration sectors.
Key Responsibilities
This occupation is well suited for individuals who enjoy travelling, the outdoors, and a dynamic and exciting workplace. The successful applicants will be responsible for field data acquisition, preventative maintenance, preliminary assessment of data quality, application of QA/QC procedures and interaction with contractor and client representatives. DGI is a growing company and there are opportunities for advancement to senior field staff, project management and data processing positions.
This position is based Winnipeg or northwestern Ontario and requires traveling. The position offers the ability to travel internationally and is ideally suited for those who are motivated to join a team dedicated to providing innovative applications of advanced technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Work in small teams to collect geological & geophysical data in the field
- Travel to client sites, primarily in northwestern Ontario but opportunity to travel internationally
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure data quality
- Apply QA/QC procedures and collaborate with contractors and clients
- Operate specialized hardware and software for subsurface imaging

What We’re Looking For
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with technology and working outdoors

- You are based in Winnipeg or Thunder Bay or able to get to either easily, and willingness to travel and work in remote locations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs
