Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Production Manager to run the manufacturing operation for a fast-growing healthy frozen food brand. The ideal candidate is a strong team builder and leader with experience and skills in planning and processes, optimizing efficiency, and achieving high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong background in food manufacturing, process improvement, quality control, shipping, supply chain management. The Sr. Production Manager will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of lean manufacturing and operational excellence. This is a small company and the Sr. Production Manager must be able and willing to wear many hats: the job is both physically and mentally demanding.
We produce in a cold room, and time in a walk-in freezer is required for palletization and inventory management.
Monday to Friday, shifts usually starting at 6:30am, some work from home administration may be required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of production activities to meet tight delivery timelines while also meeting quality, safety, and efficiency goals.
- Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Oversee supply chain operations, including inventory management, procurement, and logistics, ensuring seamless material flow.
- Oversee equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and safety regulations across all manufacturing processes.
- Manage a small team to foster continuous improvement initiatives and uphold a culture of operational excellence.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and develop strategies for resolution.
- Provide leadership in implementing systems to enhance overall performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing management, preferably within a Lean manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with experience in process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using software.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management, quality control processes, and general food manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving and mathematical skills with a focus on operational efficiency and innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field preferred; seeking a person with a strong combination of both education and industry experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
