The Data & Analytics team at Loblaw is hiring a Analyst, Data Governance, with experience in working with big data. Reporting to the Senior Director- Data Governance , the incumbent will be responsible for implementing framework and building processes to manage our enterprise data. This will include working with our data related policies, procedures and values to ensure consistency throughout our business divisions and overall business.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation of data governance and the ability to work with large databases and data structures.

What You'll Do:
Collaborate with various business divisions including IT developers to understand the business requirements for data definitions and reference data
Support the execution on the enterprise wide data governance framework
Make recommendations on improving the data quality and protecting sensitive data by reviewing and modifying data architecture, policies and processes.
Develop, test and implement the data documents, analysis, reporting and process improvements
Collaborate with data stewards to review and modify the regulatory data and to ensure its accuracy
Ensure data governance is adhered to in any projects
Other duties as required

What You'll Bring:
Post secondary education in Statistics, Business or related field of study degree preferred
Bachelor Degree in a field related to data management strongly preferred
1-3 years experience in an analytical or planning role working with big data
Accounting experience considered a strong asset
Experience in data governance required
Advanced knowledge of Data tools (SQL, SAS, tableau)
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
Superb analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only manipulate but also derive meaningful interpretations from data
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Capability to liaise with all levels across the enterprise on projects and ad-hoc requests
Strong detail orientation is essential in this role
A Team player and self starter
Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Access)
