We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Site Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the construction industry for a upcoming 37 unit apartment build project.. The successful candidate will oversee daily site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will coordinate subcontractors, manage site personnel, maintain compliance with all safety regulations, and communicate effectively with project managers, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
- Ensure work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Monitor project progress and report daily to the Project Manager.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Identify and resolve construction issues proactively to minimize delays.
- Maintain project schedules and assist in planning upcoming work.
- Review and coordinate material deliveries to ensure timely availability.
- Monitor workmanship and maintain high-quality construction standards.
- Keep accurate daily site reports, including labour, equipment, weather, and project progress.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial, residential, or industrial construction practices.
- Thorough understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Working knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple trades and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with construction management software is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade certification or post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Occupational Health and Safety certification (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, or equivalent).
- Experience using project management platforms such as Procore, Builder trend, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar software.
