Overview
We are seeking a Full-Time highly skilled Certified Dental Assistant Level 2 to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, patient care, and medical documentation. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in chairside assisting, infection control, and the use of advanced dental technology, including medical imaging equipment. Prior experience with EMR system such as OPES is highly desirable. A strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is essential to ensure compliance and maintain patient confidentiality.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials using aseptic techniques
- Take and develop X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately in patient charts
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency
- Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas
- Records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure smooth clinic operations by collaborating effectively with team members including dental receptionists
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with certification at Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices
- Hands-on experience with EMR system such as OPES preferred
- Experience working in general dentistry, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry environments is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
- Prior experience with medical documentation and medical records management is preferred
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
