Impact Childcare Centre is a Christian childcare centre located in the heart of the Jane and Finch community in North York. We are passionate about providing exceptional care in a loving, Christ-centred environment where children are encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Operating within Christian Centre Church, our mission is to create a place where children experience the love of Jesus every day through caring relationships, meaningful learning, weekly chapel, prayer, and Christian values woven throughout our program.
We are currently seeking a full-time Temporary Assistant Supervisor to cover a maternity leave (approximately 18 months). While this is a temporary position, there may be the opportunity for an extension or permanent employment should a position become available.

What You'll Do
Working alongside the Director and RECE Supervisor, you'll help ensure the centre operates smoothly while supporting staff, children, and families.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the overall daily operations of the childcare centre.
- Assisting the Director and RECE Supervisor with centre administration and leadership.
- Monitoring classrooms to ensure high-quality programming, health and safety standards, and Ministry compliance are maintained.
- Providing coaching, encouragement, and support to educators.
- Assisting with Ministry of Education and Public Health inspections and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Helping maintain licensing standards under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Providing classroom coverage during staff breaks, lunches, absences, or when additional support is needed.
- Assisting with staff schedules and supply staff coordination.
- Answering phones, responding to parent inquiries, and supporting family communications.
- Assisting with newsletters, website updates, waitlist management, and parent communications.
- Creating and managing social media content to highlight our centre.
- Helping plan and coordinate special events such as Weekly Chapel, Graduation, Christmas celebrations, staff appreciation events, and family activities.
- Ordering classroom, office, and cleaning supplies.
- Supporting the implementation of daily health and safety procedures, cleaning schedules, and emergency drills.
- Teaching simple introductory French activities (no prior French experience required—we will provide resources).
- Supporting payroll administration, petty cash, and general office organization as needed.
- Being flexible and willing to jump in wherever support is needed to ensure the success of the centre.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Positive, organized, and dependable.
- Comfortable using computers and technology; specifically Canva and Social Media.
- An excellent communicator with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Passionate about working with children and supporting educators.
- Able to multitask in a busy childcare environment.
- Flexible, proactive, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Previous childcare experience, office administration experience, or leadership experience is considered an asset.
- RECE registration is welcome but not required.
- Experience in childcare, early learning, education, customer service, administration, or leadership is highly valued.
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) is an asset but not required.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
Scheduling Requirements
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility.
The successful candidate must be available to rotate between opening and closing shifts, including:
- Opening Shift: 6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
- Closing Shift: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Monday to Friday.
