Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources & Service Administration, as part of the HR team, the Human Resources Advisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day employee and labour relations function of the Human Resources department, including performance management, talent management, disciplinary processes, labour relations and collective agreement administration, policy and procedure administration and interpretation, data analysis, reporting and presentations, and overseeing the overall employee experience.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Education and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline e.g. social sciences or business.
- CHRP designation or ability to obtain the designation.
- 3-5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist role with particular emphasis on compensation and benefits, collective agreement administration and disability management.
- Thorough knowledge of the specific legislation and regulations governing the practice of HR is essential.
- Previous experience with HRIMS and working in a unionized environment would be an asset.
- Previous experience in facilitating groups and developing training programs would also be an asset.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and mediation skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proof of valid G-class driver’s license and $1,000,000 automobile liability insurance.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check.
