THE ROLE:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team and play a key role in financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and stakeholder management. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Complete journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
Manage intercompany transactions and related accounting activities
Support financing draws, capital calls, and project cash management
Prepare GST filings and assist with tax compliance requirements
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
Collaborate with lenders, investors, partners, and external auditors
Assist with year-end audit preparation and audit support
Review accounting work completed by junior team members
Provide mentorship and guidance to two direct reports
Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen financial controls

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
CPA designation is considered an asset
4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
Strong experience preparing financial statements and financial reports
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas
Experience with Yardi is considered a strong asset
Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Proven ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
