The Opportunity: The Experiential Learning Coordinator is an integral member of the School of Community Services and Interdisciplinary Studies, responsible for all components related to securing and seamlessly placing students in field placement opportunities. The incumbent recruits new placement sites and makes requests to existing partners. The incumbent is responsible for onboarding and renewals of all partnering agencies and organizations. As the liaison and primary College contact, the incumbent is required to collaborate with Coordinators and faculty to provide support and services to placement agencies, faculty, and students, maintaining positive relationships with the various programs’ placement partners. Determining student eligibility for placement is the responsibility of the incumbent in terms of all placement requirements, academic standing, and any other requirements. The incumbent is the first point of contact for all programs and is responsible for updating the college community of PLAR processes, changes, websites and coordinating PLAR materials.
What you need to be successful:
- Two-year Post-Secondary CAAT Diploma in one of the Health & Community Services Programs or equivalent degree programs with a practical experience component.
- minimum two years’ experience working in the Health or Community Services field, preferably in the Northern region.
- Experience in coordinating recruitment initiatives for student placements
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, student-centred environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong public relations and clerical skills
- Experience working in an educational setting supporting/guiding students is an asset
- Will be required to perform Academic Assistant duties as required from time to time across the College
This is a full-time support staff position, Payband G – $34.60 - $39.93/hour (starting rate $34.60). 35 hours/week, 12 months/year
