Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining various structural components using a range of hand tools and techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of projects. The Fitter will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality craftsmanship across diverse construction, carpentry, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration projects. Candidates with experience in construction painting, caulking, and working with schematics will be highly valued. Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble and install structural components
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and power tools to perform fitting tasks
- Measure and cut materials precisely for various construction applications including flooring, tile laying, and carpentry
- Install plumbing fixtures and perform basic plumbing repairs as needed
- Conduct welding and caulking tasks to ensure secure and weatherproof installations
- Assist with restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged structures or surfaces
- Perform construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing or repair work
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately
- Maintain a clean work area and properly store tools and materials
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for various fitting tasks
- Strong knowledge of construction processes including carpentry, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with caulking and construction painting is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within a team environment
- Prior experience working in construction or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
