About the Position
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing both the compliance and tax planning needs of our clients. Our client base includes high net worth individuals, corporate entities spanning various industries, family trusts, partnerships, and cross border structures. We are looking for a candidate who can combine solid tax knowledge with innovative thinking and excellent writing skills. Your ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and persuasively will be key to your success in this role. Experience with U.S. tax regulations will be highly valued.
This role will also require an excellent understanding of accounting principles with experience in financial reporting and assurance engagements.
Summary of Responsibilities

Correspond with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals.

Prepare and review complex tax returns for various entities, including high-net-worth individuals and corporate entities with cross border tax exposure.

Develop and implement tax strategies that align with our clients’ financial goals

Conduct research on Canadian tax laws, regulations and treaty provisions to provide creative solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.

Communicate findings and recommendations in clear, concise written reports, tax planning memos, and tax planning slide decks.

Assist in the preparation of compilation files, reviews, and financial audits, where capacity allows.

Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products.

Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management.

Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development
Summary of Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a Professional Services firm
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a liberal arts background is highly valued.

CPA designation or equivalent preferred.

Completion of any levels of the CPA in-depth tax courses an asset.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.

Exceptional writing and communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
