Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process trade invoices, edit, post, print and file all documents
- Match receiving with invoices
- Prepare and review monthly reports (AP aging, ck register)
- Code various invoices (AMEX, VISA, Otis,) for Canada
- Complete credit applications and set up new vendors
- Accounts Payable inquiry calls, maintaining supplier records, supplier accounts, investigate and reconcile any problems with outstanding invoices
- Verify supplier statements
- Prepare month-end payments (e.g. Tax Installments, Duty, HST)
- Maintain schedule of prepayments to vendors (excluding Admetal)
- Monitor and balance A/P accrual account #2045
- Process the WIP Journal
- Monitor commission payments for payment to reps
- Assist Senior Accountant as required
Qualifications:
- College diploma in accounting, Bachelor’s preferred.
- Min. 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and methodology and operation of a computerized accounting system.
- Experience with Visual Manufacturing and Global Finance is an asset.
- Proficient in Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
- Must have strong work ethics. + Must be well organized and a self-starter. + Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, methodology, & operation of a computerized accounting system.
- Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages such word processing and spreadsheet design.
