Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Director, Scoring & Forecasting, this individual will play a supporting role in assisting with the development of the bank’s strategy to enhance its Credit Scoring capabilities. This role will support the Director by providing effective credit risk analysis to aid in the development and implementation of credit risk and fraud strategies, scorecards, monitoring and guidance at a tactical level. The individual will bring strong statistical knowledge with a proven track record of working with other business partners from across the organization to drive analytically based strategies.

What You'll Do:
Utilize SAS/Python to extract, manipulate and analyze raw data in order to provide value-added and timely analysis to assist in optimizing risk mitigation objectives;
Develop and manage data pulls for ad-hoc projects that drive strategy changes and/or business recommendations;
Support the Manager and/or Director with the development of scoring models for use across the credit lifecycle;
Execute standard and ad-hoc reporting and summarized presentations as needed for regularly scheduled update forums;
Develop and execute regular queries from the data warehouse for use in reports;
Support the Manager and/or Director with the management and design of scoring strategies with an emphasis on mitigating risk exposure;
Liaise with stakeholders (internal and external) to obtain requirements and/or support for risk sponsored initiatives;
Utilize data mining skills to perform pre-program and post-program analysis for various scoring related initiatives;
Assisting with the monitoring of current credit scores identifying and actioning opportunities for improvement; and
Assisting with the operational implementation of new or adjusted credit scores.

What You'll Need:
1 - 2 years of experience in a data analysis / data mining role;
Demonstrated experience with SAS (Python/R beneficial) and Microsoft Office suite of products, experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is beneficial;
Previous experience within the financial services industry is required with experience in the credit card / consumer lending field preferred;
Demonstrated understanding of the model development process;
Demonstrated understanding of credit scores, and their use in business strategies, post implementation use, and monitoring is required;
Post-Secondary Degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Ops Research);
Ability to communicate analytic recommendations to both technical and non-technical team members, either verbally or via documentation;
Strong project management skills and ability to work within timelines;
Proven analytical and conceptual thinker who can adapt to a rapidly changing environment;
Demonstrated ability in working within a team and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to understand issues and solve problems; and
Demonstrated willingness to take initiative, work independently in a dynamic environment, and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
