Job Overview / Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Taxation, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities include, ensuring compliance with the Company’s income and commodity tax filings, providing audit support and assisting with various other tax projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Play a key role in preparing the quarterly tax provision for financial reporting purposes
- Prepare and review income tax returns for partnerships, trusts and corporations
- Preparation and review of monthly GST/HST and QST filings for all properties
- Preparation of monthly Corporate HST and QST tax return
- Analyze and manage GST/HST and QST budget to actual variances
- Research and analysis on resident tax issues, questions on resident GST/HST and QST matters and payroll tax questions
- Research and prepare memos on tax matters as they arise
- Liaise with CRA and Revenue Quebec to resolve income tax, commodity tax and payroll tax issues
- Review and prepare Federal and Quebec partnership and trust tax returns
- Analyze accounting details to determine tax treatment for quarterly provisions and compliance
- Review capital cost allowance schedules and supporting details
- Preparation of tax projections and At-Risk and Adjusted Cost Base computations
- Provide tax support for M&A activity and other tax projects as required
Qualifications
Education:
- CPA
- Completion of CICA In-Depth
Experience:
- 3-5 years of post-designated tax experience in large company/public accounting firm

- Strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely

- Contributes to building a positive team dynamic, and to support efforts to succeed
- Strong proficiency in Excel
