Position Overview:
SFL Missions Inc. is seeking a skilled Board Assembly Technician to support the assembly of high-reliability electronic systems used in advanced spacecraft. Working closely with electrical engineers and production teams, you will assemble, inspect, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs), wiring harnesses, and other precision electronic subsystems that meet the rigorous quality standards required for space applications.

Key Responsibilities:
· Assemble and solder surface-mount and through-hole printed circuit board assemblies.
· Visually inspect electronic circuit board assemblies for compliance to workmanship standards.
· Read Bills of Materials and PCB layout diagrams, follow assembly manuals, and coordinate with electrical engineers for assembly instructions.
· Assemble wiring harness, including crimping and soldering contacts, splicing wire, lacing, organizing, and labeling wire bundles to specification.
· Perform wire harness continuity tests.
· Participate in inventory upkeep and materials purchasing as required.
· Perform other sensitive hand-assembly tasks such as application of thermal tapes and assembly for solar panels, battery packs, and other spacecraft subsystems.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in assembly of modern electronic printed circuit boards with surface mounted components is required.
· Proficiency in precision soldering, PCB assembly, and electronic component handling.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
· Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures and best practices.
· Exceptional manual dexterity, fine motor skills, attention to detail, and corrected or uncorrected vision suitable for precision assembly work.
· Good verbal and written communications skills.
Education and Qualifications:
· Diploma as an Electrical Engineering Technologist, Electronics Technician, or a related discipline.
· J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent NASA/ESA soldering certification is considered a strong asset.
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary: $65-90K per year, commensurate with experience
· RRSP Matching: Employee contributes up to 5% of annual salary, with the company matching at 2:1 (company contributes up to 10%)
