Welcome to Ontario Waterway Cruises. We appreciate your interest in our facility for your summer employment. We operate the Kawartha Voyageur, a small 45 passenger cruise boat that plies the waters of the Rideau Canal and the Trent Severn Waterway.
Our clientele, of mostly older adults, enjoy our crew’s enthusiasm and dedication to a high quality of service. While enjoying the comforts of home, our passengers also enjoy speaking with our crew individually, as we are all on a first name basis. Passengers commend our crew on our wonderful food and the overall cleanliness of our ship that is always presented with a smile. Available Summer Positions
Servers-Our Servers work together in a team of 4, serving our passengers 3 set meals a day. They are responsible for setting up the dining room, washing all dishes, bartending when required, light daily housekeeping and communicating with passengers. A good work ethic, excellent communication skills, ability to work closely with co-workers and working in a structured environment are required. Must also hold Smart Serve certification and Provincial Health and Safety At Work certification.
Deckhands-Our Deckhands are responsible for keeping the exterior and interior of the vessel clean. They work closely with the Captain and Engineers while handling the lines. Housekeeping and laundry incorporate a majority of their day, dishes and bartending are also part of their daily routine. Deckhands work independently for a majority of their shifts. A good work ethic, excellent communication skills, ability to manage their daily routine and enjoying the outdoors is required. Must also hold Smart Serve certification and Provincial Health and Safety At Work certification.
