Overview
A well-established travel agency is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Travel Agent to join our team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping people plan meaningful trips, has strong attention to detail, and is excited to grow in the travel industry.
The successful candidate will help clients with flights, vacation packages, family travel, group travel, and travel insurance. They will also assist with our growing destination wedding division.
Many of our clients speak Punjabi and/or Hindi, so the ability to communicate in Punjabi and/or Hindi is very important for this role.
Prior travel agency, airline, hotel, tourism, or customer service experience is an asset. However, we are also open to training the right person who has a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, budget, and timeline
- Research and recommend flights, vacation packages, hotels, tours, cruises, and other travel options
- Prepare quotes and follow up with clients in a timely and professional manner
- Book travel arrangements accurately using supplier and reservation systems
- Maintain clear records of client bookings, payments, documents, and itineraries
- Provide information on travel insurance, visa requirements, entry requirements, baggage rules, and destination details
- Assist clients with changes, cancellations, schedule changes, and other travel-related issues
- Support destination wedding and group travel files, including guest quotes, rooming lists, reminders, and supplier communication
- Communicate clearly with clients in English, and when needed, in Punjabi and/or Hindi
- Respond to client inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Build long-term client relationships through friendly, reliable, and personalized service
- Stay updated on travel trends, supplier promotions, airline rules, and destination updates
- Work with the team to provide a smooth client experience from inquiry to return
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude
- Ability to speak Punjabi and/or Hindi is strongly preferred
- Good communication skills in person, by phone, and by email
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy office environment
- Comfortable using computers, email, online booking tools, and basic office software
- Sales-focused mindset with the ability to recommend suitable travel products and services
- Interest in travel, tourism, weddings, and group travel
- Ability to learn new systems and follow company processes
- Prior experience in a travel agency, airline, hotel, hospitality, tourism, or sales role is an asset
- Knowledge of Sabre, Tern, supplier booking platforms, or travel insurance is an asset but not required
- Additional language skills are an asset
