Position Overview
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will perform electrical installations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, project drawings, specifications, and Site Connect standards.
You will play an important role onsite by completing rough-in and finishing work, maintaining high-quality workmanship, supporting project schedules, and mentoring apprentices. You will work closely with the Foreman and project team to ensure electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Complete electrical rough-in and finishing for new residential construction
- Install electrical systems, devices, panels, fixtures, and associated equipment
- Install conduit, pull wire, complete terminations, and perform required testing
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
- Identify installation issues and work with the Foreman to find practical solutions
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, productivity, and site organization
- Support, guide, and mentor apprentices in the field
- Participate in FLHAs, toolbox talks, inspections, and safety meetings
- Complete required documentation, reporting, and time tracking
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
- Represent Site Connect professionally when working with other trades, contractors, and project partners
Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyperson Electrician certification or recognized equivalent
- Experience with new residential construction
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and safe work practices
- Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Comfortable supporting and mentoring apprentices
- Valid driver’s licence
