Job Description:
The Maintenance & Renovations Associate will be responsible for completing maintenance and renovation work on bachelor, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom apartments as directed by the Vice President of Operations. They will provide primary support to the Vice President of Operations, and perform some general administrative duties and team support as required.
Property Maintenance:
- Complete drywall repair and painting
- Vinyl flooring installation
- Light plumbing, such as faucet and toilet replacements
- Door repairs and door lock changes
- Carpentry experience not necessary, but would be an asset
- Other miscellaneous repair work as requested day-to-day
Administration Support:
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks
- Follow up on tasks, work orders and scheduled repairs to ensure completion
- Any other duties as requested by the Vice President of Operations
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the use of text messaging and instant messaging apps
- Be a strong team player, eager and willing contributor to team success even in areas outside of position requirements
- Time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a wide range of physical tasks, including lifting objects up to 30 lbs, bending, and kneeling
- Adapt to new ideas, constant changes, and continuously seek to improve
Education and Experience:
- Minimum - High School Diploma (Grade 12)
- Proven experience as a maintenance worker or in a similar role.
Hours of Work:
- 30 hours per week, 4-5 days per week, within the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM on-site in Owen Sound
- Hours of work may change depending on seasonality and leasing demands
