Athletic Therapist or Kinesiologist
Permanent Full Time Monday to Thursday - 32 hrs
0.8 FTE
Reporting to the Nursing Manager and the Admin Manager, the incumbent will be part of a Clinical Team and will be responsible for:
● providing evidence-based care within the full scope of Athletic Therapy/Kinesiology practice to support patient care at a high level
● assessing patients preoperatively and post operatively, including measurements, gait assessment, walking aid assessment, reviewing exercises, pre op education
● delivering treatment plan to patients as part of the Rapid Access Clinic, operating as an Expert Musculoskeletal Assessor for the program (demonstrating exercises, providing information on conservative management strategies for hip and knee osteoarthritis)
● communicating assessment findings, concerns, and recommendations with surgeons’ offices
● documenting patient interactions
● assisting with scheduling post-op appointments
● processing referrals
● working with the team to ensure patient requirements are being met in line with the Provincial Hip and Knee Care Path
● various AT/Kinesiologist duties as required
● Current CPR certification required
● Registration with professional regulatory body required
● basic computer skills are required
● Experience with Orthopaedics preferred
The incumbent should have demonstrated excellence in communication (verbally and in writing) with strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport with patients and work well with other professionals on the multi-disciplinary team.
Final rate of pay to be determined based on qualification and experience. Full range of benefits offered after a completion of a satisfactory probationary period.
