You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and you are responsible to deliver required refrigeration output (cooling) to the production equipment. You are accountable to ensure the deployment and execution of refrigeration processes, energy& water savings, TSSA, environmental compliance control and capital oversight in accordance and alignment with Weston Foods Inc. Corporate policies. You will work with maintenance staff and other personnel to correct production problems where refrigeration considerations are involved and assign projects to and collaborate closely with the plant project team. In addition, you will be accountable for projects, schedule, procurement, execution, start up, operability and safety results. As the Class B Operator you will interface with other departments to ensure asset’s health and operational best practices; this will include work with external customers; i.e. government agencies, industry associations and other organizations.
Job Activities
Ensures daily inspection of the refrigeration plants that all systems are operating in a safe and expected manner
Maintain total awareness of and compliance to all Safety regulatory legislation through TSSA
Perform Preventative Maintenance of refrigeration equipment for the plant
Ensures the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the plant and maintain history of all critical equipment
Undertakes capital projects to improve operating performance of the plant in consultation with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager
Perform scheduled Freon leak checks and report any leaks found, complete online records
Maintain refrigeration spare parts inventory, including Freon level in all plants
Maintain good housekeeping within the engine room including 5S
Requirements
Possess a Refrigeration Operator - Class B License or Power / Stationary Engineer Level 3 Certification
Working knowledge of TSSA and CFIA standards
Strong Communication and Leadership skills
Flexibility to work outside of regular work hours when required
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
