Hardisty Health Centre is a small rural health centre with 6 Acute Care beds, 15 Continuing Care beds, and an active Emergency Department As an HCA and member of our nursing care team, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our residents and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct resident centered care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly residents, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer disease or other dementia. Hardisty, population 800, is a progressive rural community located in the scenic Battle River Valley right next to the Hardisty Lake and the Hardisty Golf and Country Club. Hardisty is a recreation paradise, offering a wide range of activities including camping, hockey, soccer, dance, rodeo, curling and cross-country skiing. The town is surrounded by rolling hills and farmlands that provide excellent habitat for native upland birds, whitetail and mule deer, moose and migrating ducks and geese. Life in Hardisty can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to make it.

Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA) - Nursing Attendant, you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
